Reynolds School District Unveils Emilio Hoffman Memorial Plaque

"November 4, 2021, Fairview, OR – Reynolds School District, along with the Emilio Hoffman Foundation, the Reynolds School District Board and Local and State Representatives, will unveil the Emilio Hoffman memorial plaque to honor the Reynolds High School student who tragically lost his life in a 2014 school shooting. The space currently being occupied by the Multnomah County Health Department Student Health Center has been dedicated in Emilio Hoffman’s memory.


The unveiling event will take place on Friday, November 5th at approximately 4pm outside of the Student Health Center at Reynolds High School. The funding for the memorial plaque was led by Senator Gorsek, former Senator Monnes Anderson and Representative Hudson.


“I have heard that Emilio lit up a room upon his entrance,” stated Dr. Diaz, Superintendent of Schools for the Reynolds School District. “This plaque will be a reminder of Emilio’s positive spirit every time students, staff and community members come to our Student Health Center.” Jennifer Hoffman, Emilio’s mom stated, “The Hoffman family is grateful to everyone who is keeping our son’s memory alive.” “This memorial plaque will forever be connected to the joy that my son brought to his friends, family and people who didn’t even know him.”


The unveiling was livestreamed through the Reynolds School District’s Facebook page.
